book review: founders at work
Founders at work: Stories of startups’ early days from J. Livingston is a collection of interviews the author did with founders of different tech companies.
It covers a lot of ground, from Apple to present companies like 37signals.
What made them successfull and what struggles did they have? This is the main concept behind every interview.
It also appears that there hasn’t been a lot of editing by either the author or the publisher because the answers sometimes look like they came straight from the tape-recorder. Which is cool, it gives the book a very authentic feeling. Also, it’s fun to read that some of these people actually come out and say they are not that business smart. Makes you wonder :).
This book was an entertaining read for a couple of evenings, but nothing more.
