Thanks to Sunir’s comment in a previous post of mine about online billing applications I was reminded of my promise to review them. So here it is.
Simplybill fell off the wagon pretty quick. It is a very easy application to use, however the lack of a decent ’branding’ function for your invoices and emails, and the relative simple invoice-layouts make this a less than professional choice for me.
The other two, Blinksale and Freshbooks, both seem very professional applications you would be willing to pay for. Both have a very intuitive interface and are easy to use. Creating invoices and managing clients is a walk in the park. They also have advanced options like recurring billing.
But, Freshbooks offers a lot more options when it comes to reports, branding, professionability. For example, when your customers receive an invoice, they have the option to click a link that brings them to the online version of the invoice, on their own account. They can view all their bills on one page etc… Awesome.
Luckily, Freshbooks also offers the possibility to customise your plan so you can add extra clients to manage, more discspace, more staff members to access the account…
My choice out of these three applications would be Freshbooks. It not only looks awesome, it feels awesome to use. Not to mention so easy, no need to go through a tutorial at all.
Great stuff!
