Well, it looks like my enthousiasm about Windows Vista was premature.
As of last Friday (the first day I had the new PC), I’ve seen three BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). That’s right, on a brand new, custom-build desktop I bought at Tones.be.
After the first BSOD, I contacted their technical service, and they told me to reinstall the drivers of the nvidia graphic card. Guess that didn’t do the trick.
So 15 minutes ago, I was witness (unfortunately) to two other BSOD. I was busy happily changing some settings in FireFox, when all of a sudden I see a bluee screen. After the reboot I got this error message.
Then, as I launch the IE to check Gmail, the computer totally freezes and I hate to hit te reset button to force a reboot. Don’t know about you, but when I buy a brand new PC, I expect it to work. No wait, not just to work, I expect it to freakin’ pour me a cup of coffee as well when I want it to.
I hate this. Is it me? Am I cursed? What is this with me and computers.
First thing tomorrow is me on the phone with Tones.be and getting some service. OK, I could be freaking out, and maybe Vista is not to blame. Maybe it’s the memory that fubar, maybe it’s the GeForce graphic card …
But if this is not fixed by the end of the week, someone’s gotto pay. And XP gets installed on the system.
Goddamn €1.400. Of which €50 was for the construction and installation.
