People that read UK based .net magazine will agree with me, it’s a magazine you look forward to every month. In this months issue (174), a readers mail is published in the inbox section.
The reader complains about issue 173, where the magazine talks about the ‘possible’ redesign/makeover of the Mr. Gay Bournemouth website.
Now, apparently, the Mr. Gay Bournemouth website is, as you can guess, about gay men.
The readers complaint (quotes from magazine):
… I write to detail how deeply shocked I was when reading the lastest edition.
… there was no warning of this on the cover and I purchased the magazine without being aware of this.
… I feel that I am fully correct in asking for a full refund of the cost of this article.
Now the guy goes on and on about how he’s a born-again-christian, some stuff about the Old testament. Children and .net magazine. Warning signs should be placed on magazines …
He ends his rant saying :
I’m sure that you have had many hundred of complaints about this …
The reply from the good people of .net magazine is priceless. I’m not going to quote it entirely (buy the magazine!) but they end it saying:
By the way, we only had one complaint about this feature – yours.
Any of you that read this as well? What do you think?
To me, when I see someone like this craving for attention, ranting about how this and that is appropriate (sex is evil, gay is bad, censor everything!), I can’t help but wonder.
Often, it’s the people that scream the loudest that are the worst ‘offenders’.
