Google pagerank madness

It seems the entire blogging-world has gone mad with current Google PageRank update. With the recent update a couple of days ago, lots of blogs from well-know bloggers have dropped several ranks. No one really knows why this, but there’s a lot of speculation going on.

For instance, Darren Rowse from Problogger.net says:

“I’ve had confirmation now from two sources at Google that this latest round of updates was ALL about the selling of text links. You can see Jeremy Twittered the same thing here. Some of those who have had their updates reversed today were falsely penalized for selling links (like ProBlogger which used to do it but stopped months back).”

That can count for something.

I’ve never payed any attention to my pagerank, but look! I’ve gone from no rank to a whooping 3. For someone who never really cared this is a nice surprise. I admit, the first 5 seconds were something like: “Yea baby!!” (/imitates Austin Powers). But I’m not going to do anything different because of it.

I’ve been rather quiet the last couple of days, I know. Been busy with some private projects. I’ve got a couple of vacation-days coming up, which will be very welcome.

Another thing that caught my eye is a post from Ryan Carson at Carsonified. Apparantly they are hiring more people to fill in a couple of positions. The ‘projectmanager for Dropsend’ position sounds interesting doesn’t it?
