Business, Life

The end of the world

Everyone that works in the retail business knows what I’m talking about. That particular customer that can drive you insane.

I’ve been working in retail for a long time now. Face to face with customers, every single day. Corporate customers, governmental customers, regular customers, you name it, I’ve seen them all (and still do btw).
One things that sticks out is the fact that each and everyone of them gets more impatient, rude, obnoxious, disgruntled, arrogant, offensive and uncivilized by the day.

What is wrong with people these days?
Just because a product is on a delivery-time of 14 days doesn’t mean you can act like a child and behave ill-mannered.
Just because a company doesn’t take orders by the phone doens’t mean you can act like an ass and go mental.
Just because you work for a ‘big’ company doesn’t mean you can ignore regulations and look down on people.

I guess that’s one of the more positive things when you work for yourself. You can choose your customers (more or less).
How do you handle this? Have you ever turned down a customer because you could feel he/she would be bad business? Or do you feel there is no such thing as bad business when it comes to earning money?

Oh by the way, the title of today’s topic is a bit over the edge, I know. But it got your attention didn’t it?
